The Deer Isle Granite Museum, a nonprofit established in 1996, is dedicated to preserving the history, culture, and legacy of Deer Isle-Stonington’s quarrying industry. Our mission is to engage visitors with the significant impact of granite on our local culture and economy, showcasing the stories of the men and women who worked in the quarries and the many places throughout the world that Stonington granite has helped to build and beautify.
