The Blue Hill Public Library invites kids to join the “Inklings” book and movie club on Saturday, August 25th at 2:00 PM. Inklings explores stories of clever children (or pirates!) who use their wits to overcome insurmountable odds. This month’s book is Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists by Gideon Defoe and the film is The Pirates! A Band of Misfits by the creators of Wallace and Gromit.
The book is set in the 1800’s, and follows the adventures of “The Pirate Captain” and his crew of unorthodox pirates, a comedy story filled with zany antics. Participants will talk about the book, watch the movie, and guest host Kipp Quinby will be cooking up a special craft for the kids.
Inklings welcomes kids of all ages. The books and movies we read and watch together cover a wide range of subjects and styles, and we encourage families to research them in advance and decide which are right for you and your child. For more information call the library at 374-5515.
