The Grand is excited to continue its fine tradition of presenting live theater on the Stanley Subaru Stage with a marvelous production of the Broadway classic musical “The Pajama Game” from George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill, running Friday November 9th and Saturday, November 10th, both at 7:00 pm. A union strike at a pajama factory generates plenty of steam heat in this toe-tapping, comedic love story! Conditions at the Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory are anything but peaceful as sparks fly between new superintendent, Sid Sorokin, and Babe Williams, leader of the union grievance committee. Their stormy relationship comes to a head when the workers strike for a 7 ½ cent pay increase, setting off not only a conflict between management and labor, but a battle of the sexes as well. Directed by Moira McMahon, this is one of the great classic Broadway musicals which introduced the hits “Hey There” and “There Once Was A Man.” Tickets for this General Admission presentation are as follows- $15 for Adults & Seniors and $8 for Students (17 & under).
