DIAA’s November Artist in Residence Sarah Baskin will hold an exhibition of her work in progress and artist talk on Sunday, November 24, 2-4 PM.
Sarah has been busy in the gallery. A painter of impressionistic watercolor and oil landscapes, seascapes and figures, Sarah aspires to be a painter of light, focusing on how the sunlight plays across the side of a building or how it sparkles on the water and on how shadows stretch across a landscape. Many of her paintings are inspired by the natural beauty of the towns, harbors and islands of Penobscot Bay. During her residency, Sarah has been painting a large triptych of the Salt Pond Blueberry Barrens in Blue Hill, Maine. Each panel is two by three feet and is intended to stand on its own as well as together.
