Castine’s three-day Plein Air Festival will take place from July 21-23. Juried artists from New England and Canada generally paint over 200 works of art. The festival includes a reception, awards and an opportunity for the public to view and purchase work created during the event. Artists paint a variety of subject matter, throughout Castine, over the three days. Visitors enjoy touring through the community and catching a glimpse of the artists in action. The public Art Sale, which is free and open to the public, will take place on Saturday from 4 to 6 pm in the Alfond Student Center at the Maine Maritime Academy.
