All ages are invited join the SEED Barn and Explore Outdoors! for a hands-on workshop creating paper butterfly casts with native grass seeds on Wednesday, March 6th from 3:30 to 5:00 PM. The casts will be used for an art installation and restoration project at the new fish passage on Pierces Pond in Penobscot, but participants are welcome to take some home to plant in their yards as well.
Participants will learn about the fish run and plant restoration efforts at Pierce’s Pond and will have the opportunity to take some wildflower seeds that they can plant in their own yards to attract bees, butterflies and other pollinators. This workshop is cosponsored by the library and is free and open to all. For more information, call the library at 374-5515.
