Come for a fun day exploring the art of wet felting and pre-felting wool paintings with fiber artist Melissa Mattes. In addition to learning the technique of wet felting, you will learn how to pre-felt the wool (layering wool and felting solid colors) to cut and use to construct colorful wool felt paintings. Felting will be done using very hot water. Geared for age 15 and up, the wet felting process requires standing for a large portion of the class, using both hands/arms to roll the felted piece. Be ready to create beautiful paintings using soft, colorful wool! The cost is $75 for Woodlawn members/$85 for non-members and includes all materials. Please bring 3 or 4 large old towels. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
