If you have ever admired hooked rugs and thought you might enjoy making your own, then this class is for you. In this one day introduction to traditional rug hooking, you will hook a 9 inch trivet with a coastal motif. You will learn all the basics of materials and tools and a little bit of history besides. The goal is to provide an introduction to traditional rug hooking with wool strips, which can be compared to painting with wool. A kit is provided with all materials needed to complete the project. Veteran instructor, Judith Hotchkiss, will cover everything you need to know to complete the project and begin thinking about your next! Frames and hooks are available for loan during the class and purchase after if desired. The cost is $125 for members/$135 for non-members and includes the pattern on linen and sufficient wool strips needed to complete your design. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
