Stars Over Surry, Night Sky Event August 9th
The Surry Conservation Commission, in collaboration with Blue Hill Heritage Trust, invites you to join them for a celebration of the night sky! We will begin the evening with an indoor planetarium presentation at the Surry School, and then head out to Surry Forest once the sun goes down, for a guided tour of the night sky. All are welcome and all events are free.

Sunset: 7:50pm
4&5:15 planetarium show at Surry Elementary School off North Bend Rd
6:00 picnic at Surry Forest, Bring Your Own Picnic (we suggest you bring a lawn chair or blanket and a flashlight)
7:00 Lynn Havsall will lead a Night Sky chat by fire with marshmallows
8:15 John Meader will lead a Guided Night Sky Tour with Stories
Surry Forest is located 3.5 miles down the Toddy Pond Rd (from the village of Surry) on Chestnut Ln in Surry. The gate will be open for the event, so participants can drive in and park closer to the event. Directions to BHHT’s Surry Forest can be found on their website or by calling their office.
