To kick off its new season, the Castine Woman’s Club invites you to a Welcome Tea and program Tuesday, September 5 at the Wilson Museum’s Hutchins Education Center, Perkins Street, Castine. Plan to attend a short business meeting beginning at 12 noon followed by tea and refreshments in anticipation of a delightful 1 p.m. program by Don Small, author of Salt Water Town. As Don reads excerpts from the book you will be introduced to some interesting, 1950s-vintage, Castine characters. Enjoy this journey back to what many consider a simpler time.

Growing up in Castine during the 1940s and 50s, Donald Small graduated from Castine High School along with four classmates. He studied engineering at the University of Maine and later retired from Maine Maritime Academy as Professor of Engineering. While his career was filled with technical writing, Don has enjoyed creative writing as a hobby for a number of years. Salt Water Town is his first published book.

This program is free and open to the public. For more information contact 207-326-9247 or info@wilsonmuseum.org.
