The Castine Arts Association is pleased to announce the 2017 festival will take place over three days, from July 20 to 22. The coastal town of Castine, Maine is the ideal setting for plein air painting. The town and surrounding Penobscot Bay area is endowed with a rich history of art and has been a popular destination for many of America’s most famous artists for over 150 years. The area possesses a stunning collection of beautiful landscapes, rugged coastlines, historic architecture, and an abundance of New England charm.
Visitors will enjoy traveling around Castine and capturing the artists at work on Thursday and Friday. The festival will conclude on the evening of July 22nd with an exhibition and sale of the art created over three days of painting.
