Maine’s Mid-Century Moment: A Symposium on Castine’s Katharine Butler Hathaway

The Castine Historical Society is co-sponsoring with the University of Maine at August a Zoom symposium on Castine writer, Katherine Butler Hathaway. UMA Professor of English Lisa Botshon will moderate a discussion on Hathaway’s life and her best selling 1943 memoir The Little Locksmith. Chris Austin, Hathaway’s grand nephew and Dr. Abby Clouse-Radigan will provide context for Butler Hathaway’s life and work. This program is sponsored in part by the National Endowment for the Humanities. Pre-registration is required.
