A Christmas Story, The Musical is a stage adaptation of the beloved classic Christmas movie based on the stories of Jean Shepherd. Set in the 1940s in the fictional town of Hohman, Indiana, the musical follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker and his quest for the Holy Grail of Christmas gifts—an Official Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot Range Model air rifle. Rebuffed at every turn with a similar echoing response, Ralphie plots to get the coveted BB gun for Christmas. All the iconic scenes from the movie are here: Flick and the flagpole; the bullies, Farkus and Dill; the leg lamp award; and the bunny suit.
This is a Grand community-driven production with a volunteer cast, crew, and pit supported by a team of designers and directors. Live music, great singers, and an uplifting holiday story.
Everyone is welcome to the final dress rehearsal – a Pay What You Wish performance on December 12th at 7:00 PM. It’s a very special night for the community, and all are welcome at no charge.
