The “Live in HD” high-definition simulcast series of productions and hi def encore screenings from The New York Metropolitan Opera continues its 2018-2019 season on Saturday November 10th at 12:55 pm on the Coastal Eye Care Screen with the world premiere of Nico Muhly’s “Marnie”, inspired by the same novel that inspired the classic Alfred Hitchcock film of the same name. Muhly unveils his second new opera for the Met with this gripping reimagining of Winston Graham’s novel, set in the 1950s, about a beautiful, mysterious young woman who assumes multiple identities. Mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard sings the enigmatic Marnie, and baritone Christopher Maltman is the man who pursues her—with disastrous results. Robert Spano conducts. Cast: Robert Spano; Isabel Leonard (Marnie), Janis Kelly (Mrs. Rutland), Denyce Graves (Marnie’s mother), Iestyn Davies (Terry Rutland), Christopher Maltman (Mark Rutland).
