The Annual Pig Roast and Harvest Supper is a local food favorite event of the year capping off the Peninsula Harvest Festival. This year the pig roast will be on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 5 pm at the Grange on Rte. 15 in North Blue Hill. Pig roast will include a woods-raised, organically fed pig, farm-raised fall side dishes and the Grange’s homemade pies and cakes. The Big Moose Band returns to the Grange with Celtic music starting at 4:30. Live auction with items from local businesses to follow at 6 pm. You can buy raffle tickets for our farm market basket at local farms, the Blue Hill Co-Op, at our booth at the Harvest Festival, or at the event; the drawing will be held that evening. The basket was donated by the Blue Hill Co-op; contents include a remarkable array of local foods, from local meats to vegetables and desserts. The cost for the food and fun is $15/adults and $5/child. Under 5 are free. Proceeds from the raffle and auction will go to ongoing hall winterization and improvements.
