Our guests are David Porter and Allison Snow who co-founded the Blue Hill Peninsula Rockweed Forum, https://rockweedforest.org, a citizen volunteer group that advocates for the conservation of intertidal rockweed. Seaweed such as rockweed, bladderwrack, and kelp provide essential saltwater habitats for fish and other wildlife. This webinar will focus on the natural history of our local brown algae, their commercial uses, and the ecological effects of harvesting rockweed.
