Author Cara Guerrieri will present a workshop titled, “Drunks, Poachers, and Renegades: Get Inspired to Write Your Family Memoir,” at the Blue Hill Public Library on Saturday, September 22nd at 10:00 AM. The workshop is sponsored by the library and is free, but space is limited so registration is required, either on the library’s web calendar at www.bhpl.net or by calling the library at 374-5515.
Participants are encouraged bring a small family artifact to help them get started, like a photo, diary, or letter(s). The goal of the workshop is for each participant to go home with a fun and meaningful story/snippet of their family history and a plan for moving forward. Cara will cover how to develop a strong beginning, and also how to pique reader interest with images and great captions and titles. She will discuss and show samples of the many ways, from simple to elaborate, to share or publish family stories.
