3/2/2024
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
First Congregational Church of Blue Hill
22 Tenney Hill, Blue Hill, Maine, 04614

Bill Gawley will be the featured performer at Dolly’s Coffeehouse at the First Congregational Church of Blue Hill, Saturday, March 2nd at 7:00pm. Bill has been writing songs since his high school days in the late 70’s and began performing for the public in 1978. His songs weave tales of dancers, lost loves, soap operas, and murder mysteries. Bill’s performances are always an adventure, with both the songs and the stories of their inspiration drawing the listener right into his compositions. He blends elements of folk, rock, blues, country, and ragtime as he accompanies his strong, distinctive vocals with guitar and harmonica. Bill combines fingerstyle and flatpicking guitar techniques and the occasional open tuning. Joining Bill will be Jackie Pike on fiddle and vocals.

The first hour will be open mic, where anyone is welcome to perform: music, mime, poetry, dance, etc. Performers are asked to arrive a few minutes early to sign up. There will be a brief intermission with refreshments, followed by the featured performer.

The Dolly Fisher Emergency Fund, named after Blue Hill’s first settled pastor’s wife, provides emergency fuel, food, and utility help for households on the Blue Hill Peninsula. This fun evening is for all ages and will be held downstairs in Fellowship Hall. Admission is by free will offering. FMI: contact 374-2891.
