Pastor Lisa Durkee will be the featured performer at Dolly’s Coffeehouse at the First Congregational Church of Blue Hill, Saturday, February 3rd at 7:00pm. Lisa has performed with bluesy rock and roll bands since 1985, and fronted her own band on vocals and rhythm guitar for several years in the early 2000s. She also performed for years both solo and in acoustic duos covering familiar singer-songwriters as well as her own compositions, and she continues to play as part of worship on Sunday mornings from time to time. Joining her for the set will be local friends singing harmonies and perhaps playing along, as well as a onetime bandmate from the Midcoast. Phil Clement is a musician with many talents. Since he was 14, he has been a member of many bands as guitarist/keyboardist/bassist/vocalist. He is a graduate of the University of Maine at Augusta with a degree in American Popular Music. He plays regularly in venues around Maine, both solo and in a variety of different ensembles.
The first hour will be open mic, where anyone is welcome to perform: music, mime, poetry, dance, etc. Performers are asked to arrive a few minutes early to sign up. There will be a brief intermission with refreshments, followed by Lisa.
The Dolly Fisher Emergency Fund, named after Blue Hill’s first settled pastor’s wife, provides emergency fuel, food, and utility help for households on the Blue Hill Peninsula. This fun evening is for all ages and will be held downstairs in Fellowship Hall. Admission is by free will offering. FMI: contact 374-2891.
