The Grand’s Weekly CineGrand series– a series of the best of the recent films, from both the Hollywood studios and independents, all playing Tuesday evenings at 7:30 pm as well as a closed-captioned screening on Wednesday afternoons on the Coastal Eye Care Screen at The Grand in Ellsworth- continues its new Spring season on Tuesday, March 20th and Wednesday March 21st with one of this year’s Best Picture Oscar nominees- “The Shape of Water.” From master storyteller, Guillermo del Toro, comes a cinematic, other-worldly fairy tale, set against the backdrop of Cold War era America circa 1962. In the hidden high-security government laboratory where she works, lonely Elisa (Sally Hawkins) is trapped in a life of isolation. Elisa’s life is changed forever when she and co-worker Zelda (Octavia Spencer) discover a secret classified experiment. With Michael Shannon, Richard Jenkins, Doug Jones and Michael Stuhlbarg. (2017.
