This workshop is for painters with some experience and with interest in loosening up and moving away from recording detail. Through demonstration and individual guidance, emphasis will be on simplifying the landscape to its essence, dancing on the edge of abstraction. A variety of paint-handling techniques and tools that encourage simplification will be demonstrated. We will work from sketches made en plein air or made from photos. Come prepared to stretch yourself beyond your comfort zone and let go of perfection.
Note: Linda Packard‘s expertise is in oil. The demo and its techniques and tools will be in oil and may not yield the same results in acrylic. Solvents will be used. $100 for members/$110 for non-members. A list of supplies to bring will be emailed to registered participants. Space is limited and pre-registration is required at https://woodlawnmuseum.com/event/building-abstracted-landscape-painting-class-linda-packard/
