The public is invited to participate in the Blue Hill Public Library’s monthly Play Reading Group on Wednesday, October 17th from 6:30 to 9:00 PM at the library, and every 3rd Wednesday of the month until next summer. This month the group will read The Lady in the Van, by Alan Bennett, written in 1999.
The play is based on the playwright’s earlier memoir, and precedes the 2015 film of the same name. It is a dramatized account of the genteel vagrant, Miss Shepard, who parked her van in Alan Bennett’s driveway for fifteen years.
