Join Lelania for a 3 hour session where you will be guided through an experience of art, meditation and movement with a concentration on creating a personalized block and making prints from it.
Class starts in the Dance Studio for meditation and movement, then proceeds to the Kaleidoscope Studio for block printing with a return session to the Dance Studio where you will complete your workshop.
There is a $50.00 materials fee associated with this workshop which includes a copy of the book, “Inner Field Trip”, wood block making materials and printing materials. If you already have a copy of the “Inner Field Trip” book (a $30.00 fee), please contact ArtWaves Office to register with a discount.
All people under 12 need adult supervision.
About the Instructor – Lelania Avila (she/we/tributary) playfully approaches challenges, embracing emotions as guides to inner wisdom. She builds community through the healing arts: ‘Art of Listening’, ‘Art of Slowing Down’, ‘Art of Interruptions!’, and ‘Art of Simply Being’. With gratitude to get to live, work, and play in the homeland of the Wabanaki Confederacy, she’s dedicated to becoming a better ancestor and global citizen. Lelania works through multiple media including calligraphy, collage, puppets, poetry, animation and video production. She’s currently working on a multi-media project called Addressing the Ism-Schism from the Inside Out.
