Afterschool Scavenger Hunt: Tracks & Scat, Who Did That?

2/19/2019
4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Blue Hill Public Library
5 Parker Point Rd, Blue Hill

Kids are invited to learn about animal tracks and scat through a scavenger hunt at the Blue Hill Public Library on Tuesday, February 19th at 4:00 PM. Julianne Taylor, education coordinator for Explore Outdoors! –a collaboration of Blue Hill Heritage Trust, Downeast Audubon and Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust—will teach kids how to identify the tracks, scat, and other telltale signs of different local animals. Participants will venture through the library on scavenger hunt using clues to help discover what animal has left a sign behind! They will also make their own animal track casts to take home.

“Tracks & Scat, Who Did That?” is sponsored by the library and Explore Outdoors. This program is free but advance registration is required, which can be done on the library’s interactive calendar at www.bhpl.net, or by calling 374-5515. Kids under 8 years of age must be accompanied by a caregiver at least 12 years of age.
