Lee Lee Leonard of the SEED Barn in South Blue Hill will speak about her work in Haiti, building and supporting seed preservation and exchange, urban gardens, and creative works around seeds by Haitian artists, on Thursday, July 19th at 7:00 PM at the Blue Hill Public Library. The work includes preserving seeds from traditional Haitian crops to help ensure food security, and establishing a “seed library.” The project also includes support of related artwork by Haitian artists, some of which will be on display during the talk.

Leonard founded the SEED Barn to engage a network of schools and land stewards at the intersection of art and ecology to promote long term habitat restoration, in Blue Hill and around the world. For more information, contact the library at 374-5515.
