ArtWaves is happy to announce the return of founding instructor and former board president, Rob Pollien, for an upcoming workshop on color relationships. The workshop marks a homecoming for Pollien, who will teach in the very space that served as his studio during the organization’s earlier iterations as the Town Hill Arts Center and part of the Kippy Stroud Acadia Summer Arts Program legacy.
Pollien, a celebrated landscape artist and instructor at the University of Maine, has long been a cornerstone of the Mount Desert Island arts community.
The workshop will take on some of the classic color problems, as taught by Josef Albers of the Bauhaus, Black Mountain College and Yale University. Additional topics that relate specifically to the effective use of color in painting, will be discussed.
