Marge Irvine, celebrated colloquy facilitator, has come up with another intriguing subject, this time focusing on new Maine fiction. As a part-time English professor at the University of Maine, she knows whereof she speaks. “All these books have been written in the last couple of years, and all describe a Maine very unlike Sarah Orne Jewett’s,” says Marge. Books to read and discuss are How to Read a Book: A Novel, The Other Eden, The Road to Dalton, Fire Exit.

Participants will be encouraged to bring recent poetry and prose to share.

Meetings held in Blue Hill Public Library’s Howard Room, Tuesdays, January 7, 14, 21, 28, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
