1/22/2024
4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Blue Hill Public Library
5 Parker Point Rd, Blue Hill, ME, 04614

Dear Friends,
As we enter into an election year, the League of Women Voters (LWV) would like to kick off the New Year by inviting you to a Meet and Greet, to learn more about our nonpartisan organization that has been dedicated to voter access for over 100 years.

Where: Blue Hill Library
When: January 22 from 4 – 6 pm with refreshments
Who: Everyone, particularly 16+ that are ready to register to vote
Note: Voters who will be 18+ by November can vote in the March 5 Presidential Primary.

Voters, youth, and community volunteers are all invited to join us to learn of League efforts to empower voting rights for Maine citizens and to seek ways of mutual support.

From the League, Ann Luther, Treasurer of the LWV of Maine and Chair of the League’s Advocacy Committee, will answer questions and refer briefly to:
• Maine legislative lobbying for the National Popular Vote (NPV) compact, LD1578, which came within one vote of passing in the prior Legislature.
• Success of the 2023 referendum “prohibiting foreign governments, or entities with at least 5% foreign government ownership or control, from spending money to influence ballot measures or candidate elections.”
• Ways to tune into the LWV’s monthly Democracy Forum on WERU every third Friday at 4 pm

Registration cards will be available for people aged 16 and older wanting to register or pre-register.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
