Blue Hill Public Library
The public is invited to learn about changes in the 2020 Census, employment opportunities, and other new developments at the Blue Hill Public Library on Thursday, September 19th at 6:30 PM. Dr. Becky Hayes Boober of the U.S. Census Bureau will share how the 2020 Census is safe, important, and even easier to complete than before.
Census results determine how federal funding is divided up among communities to pay for roads, schools, hospitals, and many other services. The results also influence political redistricting. Therefore, it is important that everyone in the community is counted!
Dr. Becky Hayes Boober served Maine people for over 25 years, working in commissioners’ offices of three state departments (Education, Health and Human Services, and Corrections). After retiring from the State, she worked a decade in philanthropic foundations, leading efforts to help older people thrive in their own homes and communities. She now is a partnership specialist for the U.S. Census Bureau, working with local communities to make certain everyone is counted in the 2020 Census.
This event is sponsored by the library and Healthy Peninsula, there is no change and everyone is welcome. For more information call the library at 374-5515.
