The Blue Hill Historical Society kicks off its 2018 Speaker Series with “Written in Granite: Acadia’s Changeable Histories,” a lecture by MDI Historical Society Executive Director Tim Garrity. The mountains along Maine’s coast may be the most durable part of our history, but each generation sees its history in a different way. No history lasts forever; as the French historian Fernand Braudel wrote, “History is the child of its time.” Tim Garrity will reflect on the history of Acadia as we understand it now and as its inhabitants understood it in the past.
