Come enjoy this outstanding exhibition of beautifully quilted handiwork of the Winterport Clippers at the Lighthouse Arts Center. The show will be on display through Oct. 20th, with an opening reception Saturday, Sept 22nd from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Approximately 20 pieces showcase the high level of expertise of these talented ladies, with quality piecing as well as hand and machine quilting. They might even have some demonstrations ongoing so you can learn more about this fascinating medium. Light refreshments will be served.
The Winterport Clippers is a local quilt group that is a chapter of the statewide Pine Tree Quilt Guild. Their chapter was formed in 2006 and they have about 45 members. The group meets the first and third Monday of every month from March to December and they are always open to new members, whether experienced quilters or beginners.
The show is open to the public at the Lighthouse Arts Center at 86 Main Street in Bucksport Tuesdays thru Saturdays, 10:00 – 6:00, from Sept. 15 to Oct. 20 2018.
The Lighthouse Arts Center, in business just a little over one year, has two floors of art gallery and artisan gifts, plus classes and workshops in the Education Center, all beautifully situated on the waterfront on the Penobscot Bay.
