SUMMARY:Two Interactive Programs by Kneisel Hall at the Blue Hill Public Li
 brary
DESCRIPTION:Kneisel Hall teaching artists will lead two interactive program
 s\, bringing music to life through interpretation at the Blue Hill Public 
 Library: one for kids on Tuesday\, September 18th at 3:00 PM\, and one for
  adults on Wednesday\, September 19th at 7:00 PM. At the kids’ event\, c
 hildren will participate in creative\, hands-on activities that will help 
 them articulate their personal reactions to music. They will also be intro
 duced to the process of bringing a written score to life and will have an 
 opportunity to create and perform their own graphic scores. This program i
 s intended for kids ages 7-12\, but everyone is welcome. Children under 8 
 must be accompanied by a caregiver.\n\nAt the adult event\, musicians will
  play a program where each piece is paired with a recitation from literatu
 re\, focusing on the role interpretation plays in creating musical pieces.
  The following pieces will be played with the following literature excerpt
 s: Beethoven\, String Quartet Op. 18\, No. 1\, 2nd movement (paired with R
 omeo and Juliet tomb scene)\; Bartok: Romanian Folk Dances (paired with Ro
 manian folktale)\; and Czinka Panna: Notaja (paired with the poetry of Sor
  Juana Ines de la Cruz).\n\nThese concerts are part of the semi-annual “
 Kneisel Hall Blue Hill-Together in Music” residency\, a long-term outrea
 ch initiative dedicated to sparking a creative dialogue between Kneisel Ha
 ll musicians and members of the Blue Hill community. For more information
