DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nDoes winter have you tied up in knots? Let a program of t
 raditional nautical ropework help reduce your winter blues. Hugh Lane will
  present Worming\, Parceling &amp\; Serving on Tuesday\, January 26\, 2016
 \, 6:30 p.m. at the Hutchins Education Center in Castine. Along with learn
 ing about techniques used in rigging sailing ships\, the audience may have
  the opportunity to try their hands at creating a turk’s head bracelet o
 r making rope. There will also be an array of sailors’ gear such as sea 
 chest\, ditty bag\, and rigging tools for discussion.\n\n\n\nHugh Lane is 
 a licensed captain and woodworker who has honed his skills in a variety of
  settings including as Curator of Maritime Exhibits and Captain of the Mar
 yland Dove at Historic St. Mary’s City\; as Bosun on the education vesse
 l Te Vega on an Atlantic crossing with 29 learning disabled students\; as 
 Education Coordinator at the Penobscot Marine Museum\; and currently\, as 
 owner/operator of a shop where he creates exhibits for area museums\, repl
 ica furniture\, carved signs\, and figureheads. He and his wife live in Ro
 ckport in a post and beam house they designed and built themselves.\n\nThe
  program is free and open to the public and is suitable for all ages.\n\nF
