DESCRIPTION:New Klezmer Trio plans a weekend of performance\, instruction\,
  and dance in Eastern Maine\n\nThe New Klezmer Trio brings together three 
 of the most prominent young musicians of the international klezmer scene t
 o perform new instrumental concert works\, Yiddish songs\, and dance music
 . Based in Boston\, MA\, the members of the New Klezmer Trio have performe
 d and taught across the world\, from New York to New Orleans\, Saratoga Sp
 rings to Shanghai\, Weimar to Vienna. \n\n November 17\, from 2 to 3:30 pm
 \, the trio will present a lecture and demonstration at Bagaduce Music\,\n
 The  Trio will perform a concert on Saturday\, November 16\, from 7 to 8:3
 0 pm\, at Temple Beth El\, 183 French St. in Bangor. On Sunday\, The eveni
 ng of Sunday\, November 17\, from  6 pm to 8 pm\, the band will present a 
 Dance with The New Klezmer Trio at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Be
 lfast\, 37 Miller Street in Belfast. \n\nKlezmer music is soulful and live
 ly\, a genre that originated among the Jews of Eastern Europe. The music s
 pread with the Jewish diaspora and gained its American popularity in the e
 arly 20th century. A klezmer revival that began in the 1970s has been sust
 ained and reenergized by a new generation of musicians. In its present for
 m\, klezmer incorporates elements of German\, Baroque\, Slavic\, Ottoman\,
  religious Jewish music\, and jazz. In the hands of the New Klezmer Trio\,
  the musical effects are electrifying. The trio are Adah Hetko\, Nat Seele
 n\, and Rebecca Mac\; all are cultural scholars and superb musicians. \n
