DESCRIPTION:Film Series:  Maine Masters - The Maine Masters Project is 
 a New England Emmy-nominated series of documentaries sponsored by the Unio
 n of Maine Visual Artists.  It was launched in 1999 and has produced a se
 ries of compelling profiles of some of Maine's most distinguished and ofte
 n less recognized artists who articulate the importance of art-making.\n\n
 Lois Dodd - was born in Montclair\, NJ in 1927\,  is a New York City and
  Cushing\, Maine painter recognized for her intimate\, poetic\, painterly 
 approach to landscape motifs (including quarries)\, the nude and floral su
 bjects.\n\nStephen Pace - (born 1918) fell in love with Stonington on his
  first trip to Maine in 1953. His paintings of lobstermen\, a lily pond an
 d his wife\, Pam\, tending the garden are imbued with the energy of early 
 Abstract Expressionist roots.  Nominated for a NE Emmy.
