New members are invited to the Blue Hill Public Library’s monthly discussion group, “Readings on Race,” on Saturday February 9th, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. This month, the group will be discussing how to talk to children about race. Suggested readings include the book, Raising White Kids, by Jennifer Harvey, which the group already discussed last year, and additional readings available from the library.
Surry resident Kate Mrozicki facilitates the group. Kate is a farmer who believes in the power of difficult conversations to change our reality. She got to practice those conversations during years of working for The Food Project in Boston and now raising small children in Surry. This event is free and everyone is welcome.
