February 24 | 10-11:30am at NGBH, Bagaduce Music, 49 South St, Blue Hill

Planting a seed at this time of year can seem nearly a religious act but, in reality, seeds are prepared to grow and thrive. Led by Karl Holmes, this session will explore seed sowing and propagating by cuttings—both native and non-native perennials and annuals. Karl will discuss affordable lighting options, container types, sowing in individual cells vs. flats, commercially available soil mixes, whether to use a heat lamp, and how to keep your plants growing.

From the Arnold Arboretum to the finest gardens on MDI, Karl Holmes has been involved in horticulture on many different levels.

Space is limited, and there is a $20 workshop fee that allows NGBH to provide a stipend to workshop leaders. Please email info@ngbh.org if the fee is cost prohibitive.
