 on entitled Penobscot Place Names at the Wilson Museum's Hutchins Educatio
 n Center on Thursday\, August 13 at 2 p.m. James Francis is the Penobscot 
 Nation's Tribal Historian with a focus on the relationship between Maine's
  Native Americans and the landscape. James has worked for the Wabanaki Stu
 dies Commission to help implement the Maine Native American Studies law. A
 s a photographer\, filmmaker\, graphic artist and historical researcher\, 
 James has numerous accomplishments\, including the co-production of "Invis
 ible\," a film that examines the issue of racism relating to the Native Am
 erican people of Maine and the Canadian Maritimes. He has completed an Ora
 l History Project for the Penobscot Nation preserving community history no
 t found in books\, curated multiple museum exhibits\, and served on boards
  and committees of many organizations.
