The Cynthia Winings Gallery presents Gathering Here, a group exhibition co-curated by Lari Washburn and Cynthia Winings, inspired by Ursula K. Le Guin’s The Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction. Le Guin reimagines culture not as a story of conquest, but as one of gathering, holding, and sustaining. The exhibition considers artists as gatherers—collecting materials, memories, observations, and experiences that unfold through the process of making. The works become vessels for attention, connection, and discovery.
In the Project Space, ‘Thread Paper Scissors’ brings together the work of Lucy Childs and Lari Washburn in conversation, exploring the intimate languages of embroidery and collage—where fragments, textures, and gestures are gathered, layered, and transformed. All are welcome!
