Blue Hill Public Library

Blue Hill Public Library will host an exhibit for the month of November curated by Deer Isle artist Frederica Marshall, titled, “Assembled Words.” For this exhibit, both artists and writers have created art incorporating words to create new perceptions for themselves and viewers. The Haiku Project group, Deer Isle Writers groups, the Harbor School and individuals have been invited to participate. Frederica says that she hopes these works on paper, assemblage and sculpture will inspire new ways with words!

Frederica grew up in Japan, and lived there for 28 years. She studied brush painting, Ikebana flower arranging, calligraphy, Bingata textile dying, pottery and language. She has exhibited her work in Japan and the US in more than 100 group shows and 28 solo shows. She is an artist, teacher and researcher. She has a BFA in Painting from Miami University in Ohio and an MA in Art Education from Michigan State University.
