 rd Room\n\nWhether you serve on a non-profit that is a school\, library\, 
 arts organization or land trust\, all board service carries with it certai
 n legal responsibilities and liabilities. Rob Levin\, a Portland-based att
 orney who works with nonprofits\, will talk about what concepts like duty 
 of care and duty of loyalty mean in practice. He will also discuss employm
 ent matters\, by-laws\, meeting rules\, liability questions\, conflicts of
  interests and public access to meeting issues. Most importantly he will b
 e available to answer your questions.\n\nJoin your fellow Blue Hill Penins
 ula Area board members as they improve their understanding of legal issues
 \, enjoy delicious food\, and take advantage of this networking opportunit
 y.\n\nTarget Audience: Individuals who serve on non-profit boards in the B
 lue Hill Area that employ one or more professional staff. There are only 3

 s extensive experience in nonprofit organization legal matters\, land cons
 ervation transactions and related tax issues. Over the last 12 years\, he 
 has consulted for the Maine Association of Nonprofits\, the Land Trust All
 iance and has represented dozens of Maine nonprofits. Rob has spoken at ma
 ny conferences\, including the Land Trust Alliance Rally and the Maine Lan
 d Trust Network Conference\, and has written several papers on nonprofit a
 nd conservation issues.\n\nOn a personal note\, Rob and his wife Sarah wal
 ked to Maine from Maryland in 2002 for their honeymoon. And in 2012 they b
 icycled 2\,001 miles with their 5-year-old daughter on a grand tour around
  Maine\, Atlantic Canada\, and Quebec.
