Calling all gardeners! The ever popular Blue Hill Public Library Plant Sale & Silent Auction will take place on Saturday May 26th from 8:00 to 11:00 AM on the library’s front lawn—light rain or shine (extreme weather date is Sunday May 27th).
Kick off the holiday weekend and start the gardening season right by browsing hundreds of perennials, vegetable & flower seedlings, soft fruit canes, fruit trees, house plants, and more. And it’s not just plants: The Friends of the Library will host a Bake Sale of coffee and breakfast treats, plus a special garden edition of their wonderful Book Sale. Bring your wish list and bring a friend; lines start forming at 7:45 AM!
Not a gardener, or just don’t need more plants? There are lots of wonderful items for bid in the Silent Auction. This year, the library will display select items and offer early bidding a few days before the sale – stay tuned for details. Featured items include: the acclaimed gourmet farm-to-table dinners, an outdoor furniture set, organic blueberries, handmade textiles and pottery, a lunch cruise on a sailboat, a fishing trip, a supply of local eggs, camp time for your canine family member, massages (to ease the aches and pains of weeding), and much more!
All proceeds benefit the general operating fund for the library. For more information or to volunteer, contact the library at 374-5515.
