Klezmer Music at the Barn, Surry Arts at the Barn

The Casco Bay Tummlers will be performing Soulful, Joyful, Classic and Original Klezmer Music at the Barn on Sunday July 12^th at 7:00 pm.  The Casco Bay Tummlers, a group based out of Portland, Maine has been performing Klezmer music together since 1988.  The term Klezmer originally came from two Hebrew words referring to musical instruments.   It is the musical tradition of the Ashkenazi Jews of Eastern Europe and consists of mostly dance tunes and instrumental pieces for weddings and other celebrations.  To learn more about Klezmer, you can visit the Casco Bay Tummlers website at www.cascobaytummlers.com/articles.html.  For more information contact Alan at 667-1308.
