Kids of all ages are invited to the new weekly Kids’ Chess Club at the library on Thursdays from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. Brookville resident Tom Batt will be on hand to teach beginners how to play chess. More experienced players can jump right in and play. Participants of all experience levels are welcome.
Tom Batt is an English professor at Maine Maritime Academy and a chess enthusiast. The library will provide chessboards, but participants are welcome to bring their own. This event is free and snacks will be provided. This program is sponsored by the library. There is no charge and everyone is welcome. For more information call the Library at 374-5515.
