SUMMARY:Introduction to Mosaic Art Making
DESCRIPTION:This class is geared toward beginners or artists with some expe
 rience who want to learn more about basic techniques\, tools and materials
  involved in creating 2-dimensional mosaic art. Thisclass covers types of 
 tesserae (a small block of stone\, tile\, glass or other materials used in
  the construction of a mosaic)\, cutting\, proper adhesives\, substrates\,
  design/layout and grouting. You will learn how to safely cut and break ma
 terials with mosaic tools to use for your mosaic. We will discuss andament
 o—the flow of mosaics and learn different ways to lay tesserae in direct
  technique with a PVA glue and/or thinset. All materials\, supplies and us
 e of tools are provided. Students are encouraged to experiment and begin t
 o discover the possibilities of mosaics. No experience necessary.
