The Blue Hill Public Library invites kids ages 8 and up to join the “Inklings” Book and Movie Club on Saturday March 31st at 2:00 PM. Inklings explores stories of clever children who use their wits to overcome insurmountable odds. This month the group will read Wonder by R.J. Palacio and watch the movie based on the book.
August Pullman didn’t go to regular school because of a facial difference that other kids can’t seem to get past. Now, starting 5th grade at Beecher Prep, he wants nothing more than to be treated as a normal kid. Youth Services Librarian Libby Edwardson says, “Come root for Auggie with us, have some snacks, and make an unforgettable craft as we discuss the book, the movie, and how Auggie overcame incredible odds.”
“Inklings” welcomes kids of all ages. The books and movies the group reads and watches together cover a wide range of subjects and styles, and the library encourages families to research them in advance and decide which are right for each child. For more information call Libby at 374-5515.
