Come learn about the Maine Bird Atlas and how you can be involved. This is a five-year effort to document both breeding and wintering birds across the state. To be successful, the effort will need people across the state to volunteer. Local ornithologist and bird tour leader, Rich MacDonald, will talk about the history of the Maine Bird Atlas and how you can participate. Rich will walk us through some of the resources available on the website and how to report our observations. The Maine Bird Atlas will be a fun new way to go birding in Maine, share our sightings, and contribute to a better understanding of Maine’s birds. The lecture is free and open to the public. Donations, however, are always greatly appreciated.
