DESCRIPTION:George Stevens Academy English teacher Erin McCormick will lead
  a discussion group about Mary Shelley's classic novel Frankenstein\, meet
 ing for three sessions at 6:00 PM on Fridays October 19th and 26th\, and N
 ovember 2nd at the Blue Hill Public Library.\n\nThis program is part of "O
 ne Book\, Many Conversations\," a nationwide volunteer effort by organizat
 ions\, “dedicated to the importance of conversation in a democracy and t
 he ability to share our many perspectives as a vital aspect of a thriving 
 society.” During October\, individuals from around the country and inter
 nationally will gather in small groups\, online and locally\, each led by 
 a moderator\, to discuss Frankenstein.\n\n2018 marks the 200th anniversary
  of the publication of Frankenstein\, which raises a broad and powerful ra
 nge of questions\, including the nature of social responsibility\, the eth
 ics of scientific inquiry\, and what it means to be human.\n\nThis discuss
 ion is free and everyone is welcome\, but space is limited and advance reg
 istration is required using our web calendar at www.bhpl.net or by calling
  the library at 374-5515. Registration should be completed by Saturday\, O
 ctober 13th to ensure the program has enough participation. Copies of the 
 book will be available to check out in advance at the library. This event
