SUMMARY:"FixIt” Clinic at the Blue Hill Library
DESCRIPTION:— In the spirit of reducing waste and teaching new skills to 
 the community\, the Blue Hill Public Library hosts a monthly "Fixit Clinic
 " on the first Saturday of the month\, with the next one scheduled for Sat
 urday\, February 2nd from 2:30 to 4:00 PM. Local experts will coach people
  in the community to disassemble and troubleshoot a variety of items\, suc
 h as appliances\, bicycles\, jewelry\, clothing\, toys\, electronics and\,
  well\, whatever.\n\nAt last month's Fixit Clinic\, coaches helped attende
 es to troubleshoot a blender\, solder a wire in a set of Bluetooth headpho
 nes\, get a fish tank pump back up and running\, access the burned out lig
 ht bulb in a fiber optic Christmas tree\, and more! Attendees and coaches 
 alike ranged in age from kids to seniors and everyone learned a lot.\n\nPa
 rticipants are expected to actively participate in the disassembly\, troub
 leshooting\, and repair of their items so that they can leave fully empowe
 red to share new-found skills and insights with friends\, neighbors\, and 
 the community at large. Repair is not assured: while coaches will do their
  best to help\, any specific item can have issues that make it unrepairabl
 e or efforts can exacerbate the problem during attempts to repair it.\n\nP
 articipants are asked to register via the library’s web calendar at www.
 bhpl.net so that the library can try to have the right experts on hand. Th
 e clinic is on a drop in basis—so participants can arrive anytime betwee
 n 2:30 and 4:00 PM. Anyone interested in participating as a coach may cont
