DESCRIPTION:Lois Dodd and Joseph Fiore\n\nThe MAINE MASTERS PROJECT is an a
 ward-winning video series sponsored by the Union of Maine Visual Artists\,
  a not-for-profit educational organization established in 1975. The Maine 
 Masters Project was launched in 1999 and has produced a series of compelli
 ng profiles of some of Maine’s most distinguished and often less recogni
 zed visual artists who articulate the importance of art-making. There are 
 currently thirteen completed DVDs (see Artist DVDs) with seven more in pro
 duction.\n\nThe purpose of the series is to support a vital contemporary a
 rtistic community and to inspire all people to create art and to recognize
  the value of art. Through our outreach program (see Upcoming Events) – 
 through series screenings\, broadcasts\, and presentations in community li
 braries\, museums\, colleges\, and art centers – we are successfully rea
 ching adults. Through our curriculum guide series (seeCurriculum Guides) t
 hat has now been launched with the first curriculum guide on painter Steph
 en Pace\, we are beginning to reach a younger audience of high school and
